Mr. Leon Walker, Esq.
Leon I. Walker is driven by a mission to develop commercial real estate projects which help to improve and sustain neighborhood life in urban communities. For the past 12 years, he has served as the managing partner of DL3 Realty. Mr. Walker brings a diverse body of professional experience, training, and education to his role as one of Chicago’s most active community developers. At Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Los Angeles, he represented Fortune 500 clients in the leasing and development of over one million square feet of office space. Prior to JLL, he worked at Citicorp Securities in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group structuring market debt securities for REITs with market capitalizations in excess of $500 million. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago’s Law School and Booth Graduate School of Business, and he received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan School of Business. He is an avid reader, accomplished bass player, experienced traveler, and serves on numerous community boards. Past and current boards include the Far South CDC, DuSable Museum, Better Boys Foundation, and University of Chicago Court Theatre.
Mr. Albert Cornejo
Since 2005, Albert Cornejo has served as the controller for both DL3 Realty, LP and Children’s Development Institute. Albert supervises and implements all accounting policies and procedures for the grocery stores managed by Saver’s Fresh Market, L3C, including the Save-A-Lot Market at 10700 South Halsted. Albert earned his BS in Accounting from DePaul University with a minor in Commercial Spanish.
Mr. William Smith
Bill Smith manages all third party facility maintenance and equipment contracts, capital budgets, security, computers and technology implementation. Since joining DL3 Realty in 2003 as Director of Operations, Mr. Smith has been responsible for managing over 100,000 square feet of facilities, including two medical centers, two preschool centers and an administrative warehouse. He is primarily responsible for managing maintenance budgets, tenant and vendor relations, security as well as building computers and technology. Mr. Smith has a Bachelor’s in Business Operations from DeVry University, and a Master’s in Human Service Administration from Spertus Institute.
